Armada Hoffler Tower

Reminiscent of skyscrapers from the Art Deco era, the 396-foot, 23-story Armada Hoffler Tower is the second tallest building in Virginia and a prominent icon for The Town Center of Virginia Beach.

The façade interweaves reflective glass and white precast concrete, knitting horizontal and vertical lines. Nine floors of concealed parking, twelve floors of office space and two penthouse mechanical floors are crowned by a 100-foot luminous spire.

The side-street lobby entrance is set back from the sidewalk, creating an outdoor plaza focusing on pedestrian traffic. Urban sophistication and a “speed and motion” motif define the interior. A two-story atrium features glass walls, cherry wood and granite floors in a diamond cross-pattern that serves as a wayfinding device and streamlines the asymmetrical space.

This tower contributes to the district’s matrix of uses, identifies its location and fosters spontaneous interaction between individual users.
