Bayfront Club

Located in East Beach, a Traditional Neighborhood Development on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Norfolk, Virginia, the Bayfront Club is a multi-functional facility that offers a place for residents to convene for civic and social functions, and a portal for enjoying access to the beach and views.

CMSS provided architectural, landscape, and interior design services for the 8,000 SF facility featuring two pavilions surrounding an inner courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool. The West pavilion features the Bay Room, the main function room; the library; administrative offices; a fitness room; snack bar; and changing rooms.

With its watchtower overlooking the bay, the “Tidewater Arts and Crafts” styled building recalls an early 20th-century resort hotel of historic Ocean View and has become the main focal point for the community.
