Courtyard by Marriott - Oceanfront South
Beginning in the late 1990s, the Virginia Beach Oceanfront experienced a gradual transition from seasonal tourist spot to year-round vacation destination. The addition of the Courtyard by Marriott brought a fresh, new face to this transformation.
CMSS designed the 11-story, 141-room hotel to reflect the local vernacular while meeting the design standards of the Marriott brand. The building is oriented to ensure that each guest room overlooks a spectacular ocean panorama. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, full-service restaurant, conference space, and Boardwalk Cafe. A nearby two-level, off-site parking structure matches the exterior palette of the hotel.
The success of this Courtyard by Marriott has helped to generate a wave of oceanfront redevelopment and set a standard of excellence for future hotels on the Virginia Beach resort strip.
