Merchants Walk Retail District
When CMSS, the developer, and city officials worked out the implementation plan for City Center at Oyster Point, they decided that Phase I needed to set the tone for the development, incorporating a well-balanced mix of uses. Merchants Walk, a collection of retail and commercial spaces, was added to support the needs of the tenants, employees, and patrons of the residential and office components.
CMSS designed Merchants Walk as a traditional “Main Street”. The brick façades of the shops provide contrast to the modern pre-cast concrete and glass exterior of the office building adjacent. On the west, the row of shops fronts an 1,100-car parking structure conveniently accessed directly through a mid-block vehicle and pedestrian entry.
Merchants Walk features Ten Thousand Villages, Jamestown Pie Company, The Perfect Setting, Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse, and other unique shops and services.
